Ice Cube and Vin Diesel: Switched at Birth?

Ice Cube and Vin Diesel have shared such similar careers that you have to wonder if they aren't somehow connected.

Do Vin Diesel and Ice Cube have the same agent? Most acting careers are unique. No two actors ever play the exact same roles. However, Vin Diesel and Ice Cube have made more similar career choices than any other two actors in the history of filmmaking. Even Vin Diesel's and Ice Cube's names have some similarity. Vin Diesel is never only Vin and Ice Cube is never only Ice. When you refer to either you use their full names.

Both of these actors can be seen this year in comedies playing caretakers to children. Ice Cube takes a road trip with a single mother's kids in Are We there Yet?. At first the children hate him, but over time they learn to love him. Vin Diesel takes care of a single mother's children in The Pacifier. These two actors have been mimicking each other's careers for years. Both have played American soldiers. Vin Diesel played a World War II private in Saving Private Ryan (1998). He and some fellow servicemen are looking for a golden haired private. Ice Cube played a Desert Storm army sergeant in Three Kings (1999). He and some fellow servicemen are looking for a private stash of gold.

Both did a horror movie where they battled fantasy monsters. Ice Cube, and a group of people isolated in the jungle, fight off giant snakes in Anaconda (1997). Vin Diesel, and a group of people isolated on a foreign planet, go head to head with man eating raptors in Pitch Black (2000).

Both actors made movies about vehicles that go way to fast for their own good. Vin Diesel was in the car racing flick The Fast and the Furious (2001). Ice Cube starred in the motorcycle movie Torque (2004).

Each has played the same role twice. Vin Diesel played Riddick in Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004). Ice Cube played Calvin Palmer in both of the Barbershop movies.

If all of this were not enough, they have now both starred in the same movie franchise. Vin Diesel starred in the original xXx (2002). Ice Cube is starring in it's sequel xXx: State of the Union.

These guys have done so many similar movies that the only thing left for them to do is to costar in a movie. I can see it now, an updated version of The Odd Couple. of course, they would probably both want to play Felix!
